MEDITATION FOR CREATIVES™ (offered this month through THE MUSIC SALON™) is a workshop exploring the Art of Meditation geared specifically for Creative Artists. You will come away from the workshop with the tools and knowledge to create a unique, practical, enjoyable, individualized meditation practice that works for you as a creative artist, one that you can stick to for the long haul. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced meditator, this workshop can ignite your meditation practice.

Creative people don’t fit easily into boxes. I don’t think they’re meant to. So with any endeavor in which a creative artist participates, I believe there should be room for creativity, innovation, personalization and flow. That’s why I teach meditation in a way that is creative, customizable, portable and fluid, yet based on centuries-old knowledge and practice. I want your meditation practice to work for you, to travel with you, and to stay with you! Most of all, I want to assist you in experiencing your deepest essence and your own unique source of healing in as direct and uncomplicated a manner as possible, and to help you learn a practice that enhances not only your creative art, but your life as a whole.

Have you ever started meditation, only to abandon it within a month (or day) or two? Did you maybe feel disappointed with yourself because you didn’t stick with it? Did you find that it just didn’t fit in with your schedule, or that you put it off, or that you simply didn’t enjoy it? That’s because it wasn’t YOUR meditation. Make meditation your own by learning how to customize it to your individual needs while honoring the timetested traditions and techniques that work.

Often when people decide to find a meditation class or teacher, the classes they find advertised operate out of a spiritual lineage or a religious organization. This often leads the new meditator to believe that meditation can only occur within a spiritual context. Nothing could be farther from the truth. You don’t need a spiritual path or lineage in order to meditate easily or well or to get major benefits from it. Real meditation belongs to no organization or belief system. It belongs to your deepest self.

Most meditation teachers teach you how to do a technique that is (sometimes) conducive to meditation, but often do not teach you what meditation really is. There is a problem there: the technique is not the experience. Nor is it the purpose of meditation. And doing the technique without having the experience will not lead you to enlightenment, or relaxation, or focus, or whatever your purpose for meditating is. I teach classes that show you experientially what meditation is, and some ways to get there that might work for you, and I do them in a particular environment that I create in the way that I create my healing groups. Meditation can make a profound difference in your life in ways you might not suspect.
